    3. I received this email today from London. Wasn't there a discussion recently of Red Rock Hill? I did not save them, but it would be great if you could help the Saroyan Festival. Bill _____ From: snakebit theatricals [mailto:melcookis@googlemail.com] Sent: Saturday, September 20, 2008 4:59 PM To: billroddy@cox.net Subject: san fran info Hello, Mr. Roddy, I am an American theatre director working in London, currently directing a production of "The Beautiful People" for the William Saroyan centenary festival here at the Finborough Theatre. The play is set in 1941, in "an old house on Red Rock Hill, near Quintara Woods in the Sunset District of San Francisco." I came across your wonderful website whilst googling for images of the time, and as you seem an expert on the area, I thought I might ask you for any additional images or information you might have on the city at the time. Any info on Red Rock Hill would be especially helpful; what sort of houses were there, how developed it was, how far from the city centre, etc. Certainly any postcards or maps from 1941 would be incredibly useful. The play is so specific to the time and the place; the more information I can give the cast and audience, the better. Thank you! Mel. Cook -- Snakebit Theatricals Parliament Hill, NW3 07788 642 641
