Dear sirs, I'm searching for Josef Böck. He was born in 1868 in Hochwang, Bavaria. He was the uncle of my great-grandfather. The only advice ist an obituary, where you can read the, he died: January 31th 1926 in San Francisco. Now my question: I don't know, if his name has changed during the immigration process, but are there any german-spoken archives in san francisco or where can I start my search for Josef Böck? Best regards from Germany Holger Spengler

Could SKS on behalf of Holger Spengler of Germany, find an obituary on the death of Josef Bock, b. abt. 1868, Hochwang, Bavaria, d. 31 Jan 1926, San Francisco, County. There is a Joseph Bock in the 1913-1923 CA Voter's Registration, however that Joseph Bock, a baker & retired was born abt. 1846, and most likely not related. The only information on his whereabouts is from a 1908 postcard sent from Hoboken NJ, unknown even if he lived in NJ. Unknown his immigration date, who he married, no children and I have been looking since this morning and no real other leads to go on. Unknown when he migrated to CA from NY or if from NJ. Unknown his occupation, if any siblings who may have came to the USA. Parents remaind in Bavaria to the best of my knowledge. Thank you so very much, Doc
