Hi! I see the new entry at SFGenealogy for Norddeutscher Verein, Silver Anniversary 1874 - 1899 by Kari Schutty. There was a women's version of this organization, Nord Deutscher FRAUEN Verein, that my GGM Marie Behnemann Hollwegs and her daughters were members of, according to their obituaries. I've been in contact the past few months with the current President of another SF German women's organization who tells me that my GGM's organization has been no longer for quite some time. She also tells me there's a book in the SF Library that calendars all the German (women's) organizations on a yearly basis. Evidently this was printed by an SF German publisher. I've been unable to find much on the Internet about Norddeutscher Frauen Verein nor Norddeutscher Verein. There is a paragraph or so in SFGenealogy briefly describing Norddeutscher Frauen Verein, and that's all I've been able to find anywhere online. I checked the new Norddeutscher Verein entry and did not see my GGF John Hollwegs as a member. Does anyone have any ideas or information on how I might obtain membership information for Norddeutscher Frauen Verein from its inception in 1874 to its closure (whenever that was)? Thanks...
