* I am hoping that some of the knowledgeable people on this list help me with information on how to obtain a marriage record from the City or County of San Francisco. My great-uncle (Thomas Gray) was listed as single and living in San Francisco in the 1920 census. He is listed as still single and living in Eureka in the 1930 census, but when he died in Eureka on December 3, 1944 he is listed as being married. We have not been able to find a marriage for him in either Eureka or Humbolt County. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in San Francisco so we are guessing that he was probably married in San Francisco between the 1930 census and December 3, 1944. I have been told that I should try the records in San Francisco rather than the State of California. I guess that my questions are: (1) Where do I write to? (2) Is there is a form that I should use to request a search? (3) What is the cost of a search for 10 years? Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide. John McGreal Beaver, PA*
