    3. I have the same kind of problem. My GGGrandfather came to San Francisco in 1852 and I have his son's death certificate listing him as father and mother unknown. Family lore says she died shortly after arriving and the kids were all placed in the care of the State after he took off on another adventure. This is a brick wall that I have been completely unable to break through. -----Original Message----- From: casanfra-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:casanfra-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of James P. Casey Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 2008 3:36 PM To: casanfra@rootsweb.com Subject: [CASANFRA] True Birth Parents Cassandra: I was born in San Francisco in 1924 and was adopted. Although I am now 84 years of age I cannot obtain my true birth certificate from either San Francisco or Sacramento. How long does this freeze continue and is there any way of otherwise finding out who my real birth parents were. I tired directly at the City of SF records center, but they deferred to Sacramento and cited the "freeze".
