    2. David: As another Santa Clara raised guy, I also lived in Astoria, OR for a number of years. You might try looking for a burial in that area. The City of Astoria owns and operates the largest cemetery in that area, Ocean View Cemetery which is located in Warrenton, OR. There are a number of smaller cemeteries, some with online data bases that you can search. I have never found one for Ocean View online. You can also try contacting Gray in San Francisco and see if they have the disposition for his remains. I.E. where the remains were shipped for final burial. Many times "Private Internment" meant that the services were for family only and not that the location was to be withheld. I have found that most funeral homes are willing to share their files with descendants seeing family. A respectful approach and a willingness to wait for their help has always worked for me. If you are not in the S.F. area, try calling them then follow up with a written request and enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope with any fees they may require to search their archives..
