    2. Hey...... Thanks everyone.? I learn something from this list every time.? Enjoyed the photos Bill.? Hadn't seen them?before.?? We lived in Santa Cruz in 1949, Mom was with her sick mother in San Rafael during her last years until 1953.? Dad and I would go up every weekend by Hwy 1 and?pass over the Golden Gate.? On some of our trips the weather was awful and the bridge had a 'measuring stick' in the middle of the bridge to check the?swing.??I saw 12' ONE WAY swing, 24 feet total from side to side.? My Dad was in road construction and believed in those guys that built it.? He would just tell me to "hold on Sis, were going over"....? Geezz....... I was only 11 and scared ................. , well I was !???????? I don't see the 'Swing stick' any more, they must have took it down?? I thought there would be photos of it. Jim Moore of the shipyards was a president of the Society of California Pioneers.\ This would be understandable with Jim Moore in the Society.? The Bohemian Club was quit popular in the first half of the 1900s.?They were into history also and one of their goals were to place placards at historical places in SF and areas around California. ?My husband's grandfather, Charles F. Humphrey, lawyer,?was deep into this 'men only' club.? I have photos of the meeting area in the 'woods' were they had their plays.? It was the only time a woman could step foot on the Bohemian Clubs 'space'.? In the play, men would play the woman's role, full dress and all.?? They would have huge paintings on canvas as stage settings.? I have one from the 1920s? 6' x 8' hanging in?the entry hall of my 1895? 10' ceiling home.? So naming a ship 'Bohemian Club'? would match the interests of Jim Moore and the Bohemian Club.? I have added the information that you guys sent me to my notes and family tree program.? These little details does make for a more interesting genealogy. Thanks a mint. I also have some photos of Hwy 1 in San Mateo Co.?before it was a 'road'.? Single lane?Mud and all.? One is of Wardell Bluffs.? Who would I contact about getting them copies? Ever,? Beth www.Beth-website.net
