Can anyone tell me where the Adlers Sanatorium is or was, in San Francisco? My Great Uncle died there in 1921 from Cancer and it is listed as where he lived at the time of death. Please e mail me at multon4240@aol.com. Thanks for any help. Margaret
Margeret The Alder's Sanatorium, in 1921 was located at 1590 Boardway, with a Mrs. A.A. Alder, manger (really the owner), she was the widow of Mr. Aaron A. Alder. The business first started about 1903-04, at 1444 Green, which their home, at the time Mr. Adler was a grain broker. In 1907 they had moved to the Broadway address, with Mr. Alder president and Mrs. the V.P. The last it was listed was 1921, the address is now the Norte Dame Apts. Hope this is of some help. Hi Margaret. I tried to track down records of individuals born at the Adler Sanitarium, but without any luck. Records from this institution no longer seem to exist. Details on Aaron Adler can be found in his obituary, which ran in the Chronicle on April 10, 1919, page 11. (There's also an article on his will in the Examiner, April 24, 1919, page 14.) His wife, Esther, died in 1945 - her obit ran in the Chronicle on Sept. 29, 1945, page 7. I have a photocopy of a brief, ten-paragraph article about the Adlers from the SFPL's vertical files. It's undated, but I'd be happy to scan it and e-mail it to you, if you like. Regards, Brian. --- George Rushton <george_rushton@yahoo.com> wrote: > Margeret > > The Alder's Sanatorium, in 1921 was located at 1590 > Boardway, with a Mrs. A.A.
