He was born in MO and in 1852 also came to CA where he married Drucilla SWINNEY, also a native of MO. Roy E. COLE was born in Mayville, Gilliam County OR Sep 20 1885. He was married in Yolo County Jun 17 1911, to Miss Louise BROWNELL, a native of Yolo, the daughter of William F. and Ione (HAYES) BROWNELL, pioneers of the county. He died in Yolo County 1-4-1969. His nickname was "Coley". His wife died in 1963. They had one son, Robert W. COLE who was reported missing in action in the Pacific theater during WWI and later was declared legally dead.
