Thanks, Carolyn Reply-To: maureen.selley@ntlworld.com To: CA-RECORDS-admin@rootsweb.com Subject: Surname WRAGG X-RCPT-TO: <sweetwater@sierratel.com> Hello from Devon UK! Is there any possibility that you could post the following on an appropriate list for me, please? Regards, Maureen Dear Listers, I am Chairman of Devon Family History Society. Yesterday during a local radio phone-in, a gentleman called Bill, (no Internet Access), asked how he could find out about a relative, supposed to be in California at the time of the San Francisco earthquake/fire in 1906. The man's surname was David WRAGG, he was born in Manchester in late 1800s. He was a cabinet maker and also involved in the entertainment business, through a liaison with a lady called Flora Belle or Zelle, she was an illusionist. They met in UK when he made cabinets for her. They travelled to California and there they were "lost", but family stories place him in San Francisco in 1906. Bill has been told that there is now a business in San Francisco trading under the name of WRAGG and would like to establish whether there is a connection. All replies to me please and I will pass them on to Bill in Devon. Many thanks, Maureen Selley
