Does anyone know of a way to locate a California divorce document granted back in 1949 when you are unaware of which county the individual was in at the time? The California vital statistics site doesn't help, it only tells you to go direct to the county for that time period, and gives no assistance in determining which one. The individuals are both deceased, so I have no way of tracking which county to hunt in for the divorce. Can't afford to write a check to all of them. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
