Hello Tami, Thank you for your offer for look ups on Ancestry. I am interested in the Immigration of this family.. probably abt 1869. Edwin MOODY (B 1829) & Sarah ( B 1834) MOODY, Born in England. Their family. Edwin Robert 1857, Alfred 1860, Emily 1862 and Jesse 1868, also a mother in law Elizabeth Moody ( b 1815) all in England. I found them in 1881 at Wilson, Niagara. NY. I don't know if you can find a marriage for Alfred MOODY b 1860, he has children, Arthur b 1882, Winfred 1883, Chester 1885, Mildrid 1889 and Wilfred 1890. all born New York State. Hi Tami, I'd really appreciate it if you could look for a John Francis Donnelly that was born in Ireland in 1899 (I think) and died abt. 1926 in New York. I don't have access to ancestry.com and I didn't feel like joining to look for this person. He is the grandfather of a close friend of mine. If you find him, let me know please. Occupation was: Policeman I was told. Maybe this will help. I know he was married before he died but I don't know when. In any event, he should show up in the New York census I hope. Thank you so much (and my friend thanks you too!). Cathie I checked the San Francisco Municipal Reports of 1902-03, 1903-04 and 1904-05, and no Condon, was listed as working on San Francisco Fire Department Truck # 7. So do not know how his name showed up in the photo. ;-) George The Schafers <[email protected]> wrote: Well thank you, I'll lookup what station that it might be! Hello SF list, I am on the mailing list for the U.S. Mint and just received this notice. The U.S. Mint is now selling these coins to be sent out/issued in December, 2006 in limited quantities. The Old Mint in San Francisco, aka "Granite Lady" survived the 1906 earthquake and a set of commemorative coins are fine looking indeed. If you are interested, please click on the link below for more information. Needless to say, I have pre-ordered a few of the silver proofs of the Old Mint. I'd sure like one of the gold coins I must admit! ----------------------------------------------------- For the second commemorative coin program of 2006, the United States Mint is paying tribute to the San Francisco Old Mint, celebrating the instrumental role it played in the recovery and rebuilding of a great American city. Public Law 109-230, approved by President George W. Bush on June 15, 2006, calls for the production and release of two commemorative coins to honor the history and legacy of the building that became known as the "Granite Lady," in this, the 100th anniversary of the terrible tragedy which befell San Francisco in the spring of 1906. In 1852 President Millard Fillmore approved an Act of Congress establishing a branch of the United States Mint in San Francisco to convert minersÂ’ gold from the California gold rush into coins. The San Francisco Old Mint building, the second building in San Francisco to house the United States Mint there, was designed by architect A.B. Mullett who also designed the United States Department of the Treasury building and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The solid construction of the "Granite Lady" enabled it to survive the 1906 earthquake and fire, making it the only financial institution able to operate immediately after the earthquake as the Treasury for disaster relief funds for the city of San Francisco.
