Dear Tami, This is my brick wall: Henry Franklin HORN, my grt grt-grandfather, was born in 1830, Howard County, MO. (source 1850 US Census) He married Hanora O'SULLIVAN, born 1834 in Ireland. (source, 1860 census) He lived in San Joaquin Co., California as early as 1857. (source, property deed) Their son Henry F. HORN, Jr. is born June 14, 1859 in San Joaquin Co., Ca. Their daughter Anna Marie HORN is born 1865 in Stockton, Ca. (my great grandmother) Henry HORN Sr. died June 28, 1870 and is buried in the Stockton, Ca. Rural Cemetery. Hanora HORN died March 24, 1885 and was buried in San Francisco's Mt. Calvary Cemetery, later moved to the HORN family plot at Holy Cross in Colma, Ca. (1913) I need to find any information on Henry Franklin HORN's ancestors; when and where he and Hanora were married; when and how they came to California; when and how she came to America; where from in Ireland; her ancestry. You can imagine my frustration with this line and how grateful I would be for any help that you, or any other listers, might offer. Most appreciative of your kind offer to help all of us, Julie Collins Santa Rosa, Ca.

The one I am most interested in is Walter (E) CLARKE, I met him in London in 1957. HE was a pilot on a aircraft Carrier in the Pacific in WW2 and later as a Cmdr on The Coral Sea in the Med. If you have death dates I can check for obituarys. for example, the William Carl Harris you say died in 1926. How old would he have been? I see a William Harris age 81 died Sacramento on 1/25/26 that MIGHT be him. Also a William C. Harris age 80 spouse W or M E died San Joaquin 1/10/1926 Lyman W. Harrington died age 75 San Joaquin spouse A 11/15/1924 You can search at http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com and see if you can find the others .. Let me know - I can look for obits in stockton papers. Edna, You mentioned that these veterans died in San Joaquin county. Is there also some connection between each of these vets and San Francisco county? I took a quick look at ancestry.com and found a few pieces of information, although none of it addresses your primary question about when the individuals died and where they are buried. 1. William Carl Harris (Died 1926) (where buried) Possibly resided in Elkhorn, San Joaquin, CA in 1920 ====================== 2. Thomas Mc Gorry (Born 1835) (death date & where buried) Do you have any service information about this individual? I don't find him in the Pension Index, nor do I find likely matches in censuses using McG*RY spelling ====================== 3. Etheridge W Reed (Born 1845) ( "" " ) Identified as Invalid on Sep 19, year illegible. Father, Robert REED, Dec 12 [1900 or 1908] ====================== 4. Michael Rigel (Born 1836) ( same as above ) No matches in CW Pension Index when searching on surname RIG*L with state CA Michael RIGEL who served D 182 Ohio Inf declared an invalid 1879 Apr 3; filing state not indicated ====================== 5. George Peter Ruhland (Born 1838)( same as above ) CW Pension card looks like he may have died Nov 28 [1897 or 1899]; widow listed as Louise RICHLAND, and minor as Louise FIFIELD ====================== 6. James A Sperry (Born 1848) (same as above ) No matches in CW Pension Index for James Sperry with state CA. Found James A. SPERRY who served in D 5th IA Cav, declared an invalid in 1878, but no filing state listed. ====================== 7. Lyman Winsor Harrington (died 1924) (where buried) No matches in CW Pension Index for Lyman Harrington (in any state). A Lyman W HARRINGTON born c1849 in MA was in Calaveras County CA in 1860; his birthplace was given as IA in 1870; ========================== Mary Thiele Fobian Genealogical & Historical Research Pacific Grove, California

In later life, a brother of my grt. grt. grandfather use to spend the winter months in SF instead of his usual residence in Denver, Colorado. Were all the land records previous to 1906 destroyed in the earthquake? If not how would I go about trying to obtain the records? Carolyn Murphy Monument, CO.
