    3. As someone mentioned (sorry, I accidentally deleted the message), the deaths on Sept 5 and 6, 1864 were due to the exlposion of a steamer boiler. I am going to transcribe a litte re that soon. Tragically, there were several of these, two notably being Jan 1855 and Feb 1856. The sac library I go to does not have microfilm for Jan 1855, and the Feb 1856 is hit and miss. But What I did find out is that it was not uncommon for the passenger log to be lost in the accident. So there were persons burned beyond recognition and/or drowned in the river who may have never been identified. Betty
