GREENLEAF  LARIS  GRACE  10/19/1906  PRESTON  EUGENE  F  CALIFORNIA  SACRAMENTO    12/15/1990  553-72-0818  84 yrs  Is there a way to search the CABI without knowing the surname? I would love to find a birth record for this person. I have dct, SSN, census, but I have never been able to find a birth notice or record. I have checked the Sac papers for this time frame. She had an older sister, Vernell Van Ness, who I was able to find a birth notice for. According to her son she was born on a houseboat on the Sacramento River, Yolo side. According to her SSN her given name was ESPRANCE CLAUDINE Her mother had a new husband each census record. The first husband that I know of, and the father of Vernell, was Henry Van Ness. The second husband that I know of was Frank Eugene. The Third was Henry Hill Eames and the fourth Delbert Armstrong. I have checked the microfilm at the Sacramento Recorders office for VanNess (although at that time I was looking for Laris Grace, not Esprance Claudine). And the Yolo Historical Society has looked. Any ideas? Or do I just have to accept that the birth was not recorded? Thank you for any ideas. Betty
