Surnames: Odell, Brown, Varain, Lane Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JW.2ADI/2139 Message Board Post: I believe that Benjamin's parents were Simeon Odell born about 1799-2 in NY and his wife Elizabeth (possible maiden name PLATT) who moved first to somewhere in Ohio where several children including Benjamin were born, next Mason (New Bedford Post Office), Cass Co, Michigan; and then to Greenville, Bureau Co, Illinois. Benj and Mary had: Laura (who wed a Mr. ADAMS) Frank B. James Millard George William Josephine (who wed Jacob "Jack" CURLEY). Benjamin F. Odell died 12 Jan 1892 according to the 13 Jan 1892 edition of the Sacramento Bee. (I have not seen the actual newspaper copy, got this infor from ancestry.com index for Sacramento Bee). The 1900 census finds the widow Mary Odell living in San Francisco with her daughter Laura Adams. The 1910 census finds Mary Odell living with her daughter Josephine CURLEY and also a granddaughter Grace Odell born abt 1893, the daughter of one of Mary's sons and Bessie BROWN(the sister of Mary Lincoln (Brown) who weds Charles VARAIN and then divorces him to wed John A.
