It appears they had recently arrived in Sacramento from Portage, WI. William WOOLSTON, his wife Jane, and children, Charles, Jennie, John and Samuel. (Jennie Woolston's death has been found in CA Deaths - 19 Feb 1951, born 16 Apr 1873 - this birth date fits exactly with my ancestor, so am sure this is the right family). Have only just discovered that the family moved to CA and would therefore appreciate some help where to start. Would like to find out what happened to them and if there are descendants. There were other children, William James, Mary Ellen and Louisa (all born Scotland) who do not appear on the 1900 census list for that household. Many thanks.

    3. I looked for more about Feaney Wiezel in the Sac Union last evening and found that she was ordered over to stand trial for murder, but was released on bonds and as of Oct 31 the trial had not yet started. I will look more when I get a chance. But I did find her obit online last night, and it appears she lived a nice long life. She died March 1960 at the age of 91! According to her obit: "She was the sister of the late Mrs. Emma Day, Mrs. Lizzie Kuechler, Mrs. Annie Greenlaw, Mrs. Alice Props, Mrs. Minnie Nagele, Frank, Albert, John and Joseph Wiezel." Betty

    3. Philip But there might be a birth certificate for her, showing that it was a "Stillbirth". Also I saw birth certificate at the Oakland Library, for a baby, who died a few days after it's birth, and on the birth certificate is the date of death and there was also a death certificate for it, very interesting. The reason that that happened I think was at the time a doctor or the midwife who delivered the baby would turn in the birth certificate once a month. George Philip Van Camp <pvc2398@verizon.net> wrote: If she was a "Stillbirth" i.e. did not live after the delivery there would not be a death certificate. So there may well not have been a published "Birth Notice". 3. Sorry to push in here like this but I have a similar query, I have a friend buried with her two sons at Mt. Vernon, and I would like to contact one of her two children that are left to see how they are doing. I called Mt. Vernon but they said that they cannot tell me any contact information. So, last year on mother's day I left a note and some flowers on her grave. I am wondering if any one on this list can tell me if I send them a letter to the cemetery if they might forward it if I include an unsealed self addressed stamped envelope if they will send it ahead for me?
