Murdock, a native of Ireland who came to California in 1861, settling first in Butte county and then moved to Glenn County. He died in Oakland Alameda County CA on Apr 2 1927. His wife and the mother of Stanley Murdock, was Mary Helen Ashurst. She was born in Missoui. They had two children: S. W. Murdock and Edmund E. Murdock. Edmund is a banker in Oakland. S. W. graduated from a San Francisco business college in 1893. He started his business career as a bookkeeper in the Bank of Orland. He died in San Francisco on Aug 20, 1930. He was married in 1902 to Miss Nettie Scribner, daughter of Knowles and Mary Scott Scribner. Mr. and Mrs. Murdock had Mary Marcella, now the wife of Dan Olsen, a teacher in the Red Bluff high school. They have one child, Norma Jean.

Dixie, I have transcribed the dc on Wm, Michael Cummings I checked the Sacramento Bee for obituaries and deaths with no result. However, his residence was listed as Broderick, Yolo County, so I also checked that paper. His cemetery is listed as Woodland, so that was another reason I thought something might be there. Yes! I found funeral announcement. Need your address to mail to you. I have George K. Ramsey's dc transcription, he was a 'boat captain; for Mr. Tom Raley. I also have his obituary from the Sacramento Bee plus a census from 1930 which shows his mother, Jessie living with him. I have Jessie Polmeteer 1/19/1945 dc transcription as well.
