    3. Dear Cousins, I have learned some history while working in a genealogy library that may help you locate future documents. Try to picture a line starting at Staunton, Virginia cutting north through the left third of PA west covering Michigan down the Mississippi River separating in north MS, AL GA to meet at Stauntn, VA again. This was the Augusta County, VA with Staunton as the county seat. Check Staunton or Richmond. And, please study about the lost state of Franklin which lasted 1-1/2 yrs and included a square of east TN, west NC, west SC and west VA. Capital of that state was Greenville, Governor Mr. Sevier.
