B. G. Dyess, D-Alexandria, is the newest member of the Louisiana State Senate Committee on Agriculture. Senate President Randy Ewing recently named DYESS to the committee which handles legislation and other matters relating to agricultrue generally, aquaculture, livestock, rural development, soil conservation, human nutrition, the dairy industry and the plant industry. "I am pleased Senator DYESS has agreed to take on these new responsibilities as a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee," Senate President Ewing said. "Senator DYESS is a dedicated, hard-working legislator and I know he will be a real asset to the work of the agriculture committee." DYESS, who grew up on a small farm in Rapides Parish, has a special understanding of the issues facing farmers across the state and in the central Louisiana area, he said. Besides serving on the Senate Agriculture Committee, DYESS serves as vice chairman of the Senate Judiciary B Committee and is also a member of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee and the Transportation Committee. ======================== B.
