He was born in Halifax County, Virginia. Don't lnow the date. He married EMMA ROBINSON also of Halifax county, Virginia and they had a daughter named EMMA CARTER who married RICHARD RUSSELL. They had a son named JOSEPH CARTER RUSSELL born Feb. 22, 1783 in Halifax County, Virginia. RICHARD RUSSELL disinherited his son JOSEPH CARTER RUSSELL for diaaproval of his marriage to MARIAN or MARY ANN BENTLEY. JOSEPH CARTER RUSSELL later moved to Tarboro, North Carolina which is in Edgecomb County, NC now but could have been part of another county in NC back in the early 1800's.
