Hi, I hate to keep bugging people but I would like to be able to add or eliminate some of these ladies. I have a John Carter born 1723 in NJ and died 1811 in Greene County, TN. I have been given the names of a few ladies but no one has confirmed or denied most of them. (1) Hannah Cope, eliminated her due to wrong death date and place for my John. (2) Isabell Haveland, I know there is one who married a Nicholas Carter but could there have been another Isabell Haveland who married a John Carter? (3) Priscilla Williams married John Carter June 25, 1747 in NJ., dates and places fit. (4) Rebecca Stuart married John Carter Jan. 23, 1754 in Brunswick County, VA, dates and places fit. (5) Rebecca Giedon with no other information and some think this could be another name for Rebecca Stuart. (6) Dorotha ? married John Carter in 1781 in Surry County, NC, this is confirmed with land records, they had no children. At this point what it looks like is: John Carter married Priscilla Williams June 25, 1747 in PA, they had Daniel Carter June 27, 1748 in NJ and Abraham Carter in 1750 in NJ. Then he married Rebecca Stuart Jan. 23, 1754 in VA and they had John Carter, Jr 1755, Jacob Carter 1758, Dorothy Carter 1760, Penelope Eleanor Carter 1764, James Carter Jan. 1, 1768 and Rebecca Carter 1770. Then he married Dorotha in 1781. Can anyone confirm or eliminate any of this? Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks, Jo Ann
