Christian CARTER is listed in the 1850 PA Census as living in Nor. Liberties in Phila as are several other Carters. Does anyone have any further info on this branch of the Carter family? Unfortunately, when I looked for Christian Carter on the microfiche, it provided only his age (61) and nothng else. Since I have men with that name on my famiy tree and since the combination of names is a bit unusual, I feel the Phila Christian must be somehow connected. What are the reasons for the sparseness of answers on the Census? Just visiting? Not at home when the census taker was there? Too ill to answer questions? I also wonder if Christian Carter is listed in the 1850 City Directory? Thanks for any help that anyone can provide. BarbB
