One of my lines is Carter too. According to census info my gr gr grandfathers Henry Carter and Davidson L. Carter were b. in NC. circa 1822. Henry's parents were James and Jane (maiden name unknown) Carter, but I don't know Davidson's parents. Henry was in MS by 1847, maybe before when he m. Axie Diggs in Yalobusha Co. Davidson was in AL, Marion Co. for Civil War service. Davidson's wife was Margaret Reel (Real?) I have names of Davidson's children but do not know Henry's brothers and sisters.
