Do any of you have the story of William Carter (b. about 1805) walking from Philadelphia to Pottsville, PA along the newly-opened Schuylkill Canal in 1826/27? He was a blacksmith. If this is part of your family history, I'd really like to hear from you to exchange information. BarbaraB
