Hi, I am working on my mother-in-law's genealogy, and it's a bit complicated. She was adopted by her aunt on her father's side at the age of 18 months. Because of this she lost contact with her mother's family. Her mother was Lois Barbara COMBS b.1921 in Yakima, WA. Lois Has A sister named Velma who is 9 years younger (ca.1930). Their parents are Clark R. COMBS and Leone CARTER. My mother-in-law remembers sending letters to her ggrandparents who she knew as "Daddy Guy and Grandma Dove". We believe these were Leone's parents, and they were born ca. 1880. The only places I can connect Leone to is Yakima (where Lois COMBS was born), and Pomona, CA (where she owned a store for several years.)
