    1. [CARTER-L] Robert 'King' kin to CPT Thomas
    2. In a message dated 98-11-15 20:27:39 EST, you write: << I do not understand why such an undertaking is of any importance if the conclusion is that they were kin. I thought Robert "King" Carter mentioned Capt. Thomas in his will as "kinsman". >> It is not a conclusion - it is a very viable debate, which I address very comprehensively in my work. As far as the will, Robert Carter named quite a few people in his will and it is not clear which one(s) he meant as his "kinsman." The language read: "... my honorable and good friends and relations..." and goes on to mention 6 persons, one of which is Mann Page (in fact, Mann was the first mentioned after "good friends and relations"). Mann was Robert's son-in-law. Sincerely, Paul
