I think I've posted this before, but I want to make one last ditch effort before I give up on this line. I have one Carter in my line, my great-grandmother, Nora Carter. (Nora could be a nickname or middle name.) She was supposedly born in Ohio, although there is nothing but a father's distant memory to support that. She married William Jesse Parker before 1899. He was born in Sachse, Dallas County, Texas and since they are both buried there, I can surmise they were married there as well. There was a Nora Carter listed in the index of the "Decendents of Captain Thomas Carter of Lancaster County, Virginia." It is the first Nora I've run across. Can anybody owning this book give me a clue if this is the right Nora. I'll buy the book myself if it is, but I don't want to waste my money on another dead end. I appreciate your assistance.
