Hi, I am interested in corresponding with anyone who may know anything about a John CARTER born 1720 - 1730 in NJ, who may have married an Isabella Haveland/Haviland and/or a Rebecca Gedion/Geidon in NJ or NC and moved to Greene County, TN between late 1700's and 1800. He was married to a Dorotha or Dorcus when he died in 1811 in Greene County, TN. He had no children with Dorotha or Dorcus. With at least one other lady he had at least 9 children and was probably caring for three children of his dead brother. The family had moved from NJ to PA to NC to VA to TN. His parents may have been John Carter & Susan or James Carter & Susannah Griffith. Thank You, Jo Ann
