Hi Linda, The Carter Census On-line web site will never replace the mailing list. People will continue to post all kinds of information relating to our Carter families to the mailing list, including Carter census data. Still, many feel it would be nice to have a permanent site to go to review the census on-line for all Carter researchers.( It will not happen over night.) I also feel that it is important that the hard working Carter researchers who have donated their efforts should also receive recognition at the site. I will announce soon when a "beta site" with limited data will be available for people to use and rate.Different navigation schemes and "window dresssing" will be tried. I want the site to serve the Carter researchers (present and future) in the best manner.
