I'm seeking to connect with other persons researching Nathanial CARTER, who d. 1838 in Greene County, TN. I understand Nathanial had problems with the Cherokees, shortly after his move to the Carter Station area around 1780. Supposedly, one of Nathanial's sons was abducted by the Cherokees, then later returned -- only for the boy to run off to live again with the Cherokees. Can anyone confirm or refute this legend? If this really happened, would anyone know the name of the abducted son? Can anyone tell me if this Nathanial CARTER who d. 1830, is the same person as the Nathanial CARTER, who was b. 1746, Chester County, Pennsylvania, the son of Nathanial CARTER b. 1707 and Ann MacPHERSON or McPHERSON?
