Anyone recognize these Carters? >From earlier work, I found that Cullen Wesley CARTER, born abt. 1816 in Jackson Co., IN, married Milley GREER on 5 Aug 1838 in Hancock Co., IN. Based on info from the probate records of McKinney CARTER, we knew that Cullen Wesley died before 9 Nov 1847. His widow's name was now Milley CARTER, so I looked for a new marriage under that name. I figured that if I could find her in 1850, she would have some CARTER children with her. The only record I found at the Indiana State Library was for Milly CARTER marrying Lewis CAIN in Wayne Co., IN on 21 Nov 1844. Then I looked for Lewis CAIN on the 1850 Census. I found Milly and Lewis plus three of Cullen Wesley CARTER's children! 1850 U.S. Census, Wayne Twp., Wayne Co., Indiana. Census date. 17 Sep 1850. p. 244B, lines 10-17. FHL Microfilm #0,442,958.
