    1. [CARTER-L] Carters in Illinois
    2. Thought I would post my line again just to see if anyone connects: This is my new granddaughter's line on her father's side (had to add that to my research!) Looking for info on James Franklin Carter b. 6-11-1851 in New Hope, Illinois He was the son of David and Elizabeth Carter. I don't know if they were born in Illinois or emigrated from another state. James Franklin Carter married Martha Jane __ and they had the following children all born between 1872 and 1887: Nancy, David, James Franklin Jr., George Thomas, Lloyd, Martha, Mary, and Narcissa. At some point some of the family moved to Oklahoma. I know that James Franklin Jr. married Ludia Halliburton in Arnett, Oklahoma. Nancy Elizabeth Carter married James A. Fitch in Ganntown, Illinois. Narcissa married John Kelton Jr. in Grantaburg, Illinois. Martha Carter married P.J. Jorgensen in Arnett, Oklahoma They must have moved to Gravette, Arkansas at some point because Martha's mother, Martha Jane Carter died at their home 3-15-1939. She was buried, however, in Arnett, Oklahoma. So I conclude that possibly James Franklin Carter Sr. may have died in Oklahoma also,. Hope someone has a connection to this line.
