Hello! I've been lurking for a few weeks. I am a descendant of Capt Thomas Carter (1630-1700), through Thomas II, III, IV and V, to James Carter (1807-1884), Samuel Ross Carter (1804-1903, married to Sarah Hunter Lucke), Shields Saunders Carter (1872-?, who was married to Louise Rice, but left her around 1910) and Weld Saunders Carter (1900-1989). I am looking for more information on James Carter's descendants, but especially about Samuel Ross Carter and Shields Saunders Carter and their wives. I don't know where they lived, other than that I think Weld Carter was born in New Jersey. I wonder if Shields married again after 1910, or if anyone has information about where he is buried.
