Barb Barb: Here is the extent of what I know right now: Kathryn Carter was born in May 1862 in IL; she married James McEntee, probably @1886; their first child was born in 1887 in IL; James was listed in Lacon in 1880 census with his family; he and Kathryn are listed in Lacon in 1900; they had a child born in Lacon in 1889 (don't know if the others were born there or not); Kathryn is listed in Lacon in the 1910 Census (as "Kate") and she is divorced. I will check the marriage and death indexes when I can get back to the library (we are in the midst of a blizzard here in Peoria) and see if I can learn more. I know from other families I am researching that people seemed to move between Lacon, Sparland, Chillicothe, Henry, etc. frequently, which is why your Carter seemed like a fairly likely match to Kathyrn.
