I am a new subscriber to the Carter list wishing to make contact with anyone who is searching the line of Henry Carter b. 1760/70 prob. Charles Co. MD. The Madison Co. Ky 1830 census shows him age 60-70 with wife age 50-60. Henry Carter had the following children listed in an 1827 indenture from his brother William Carter of Garrard Co. KY: Susannah, Betsy, Polly, Charles, Joseph, John, Alcy,(my gg grandmother b. 1812 d.1871 in Van Buren Co. IA.) Henry (twin of Alcy), William, and Rhoda. Although at least one of Henry Carter's children, Betsy, was shown to have been born in Maryland I am unable to verify if Henry came from there. Charles Co. MD land records show that Carters lived near my ancestor Isaac Davis whose son Alexander Davis later married Alcy Carter in Madison Co. KY before they moved to Van Buren County, Iowa in 1836. I am also seeking any info regarding Henry Carter's wife who may have been named Susannah or Susan Black.
