    1. [CARTER-L] New info on Carter Webpage
    2. Lewis Family
    3. Our Carter Webpage has been updated and put into an easier format for reading and copying. It took me awhile to get the hang of it, but none of the pages run off the screen now. I have also updated information on a lot of the families. I included info from Cheryl White, and others who had been in contact with Kathryn Carter of OK. Also included this time, is Israel CARTER's will. If anyone has changes or additions, please contact me. Thanks, Barb lewisf@primary.net Carter Webpage: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Garden/3471/ Surnames linked to CARTER on our page: PATRICK, OWEN, MOORE, GRAHAM, EDGAR, ROSEBERRY, ORAHOOD,NASH, MERRELL, NORVELL, MORRIS, BENNET, GRIFFIN, KIGER, PAIGE,ANDERSON, DILLON, SMITH, SEAMAN, COX, CHAPMAN, DYSERT, SIFORT/SIFRITT, CHAPMAN, YOUNG, JONES, POOLER, BIGLEY, ROBERTS. Quote from Kathryn CARTER: " I have abstracted all CARTERS and allied families from 1820 through 1880 census, Champaign and Union Counties, OH; also 1840-1880 Coles Co., IL, and various other state census records of descendants. I have numerous 3-ring notebooks of group sheets and documents on these families, am continuing placing family data on 3.5 Word Processor discs, and correspond with various descendants. My dream was to write a history of these CARTERS, but I may not live long enough! I am delighted to see this research on the Internet and am willing to share with descendants." I for one, am grateful for Kathryn's generous help. It is connecting like this, and pooling knowledge and resources that will help us finally get these CARTER families connected with the past. Barb If you are interested in the Benjamin CARTER line, you may also wish to go look at "devodave's" web-page. His Rose ROBERTS CARTER, married Lewis Bruerd, after her husband, John B. CARTER died.
