CARTER, Thomas Preston s/o John CARTER and Miss SPENSER m abt 1776, Susannah GAINES dau of Francis and Dorothy GAINES of Culpeper Co, VA. Does anyone have any information on Thomas or this GAINES family? I've been checking through microfilm wills and believe I have proof that the parentage given my great grandfather, Joseph CARTER and circulating through the World Family Tree and certain web pages is incorrect.
