Last Year a small CARTER REUNION was staged out of RICHMOND, Va and toured Lancaster County, VA. The show bill was as follows for last years reunion>>> June 20 and 21 [1998] is {was} the annual Carter family reunion in Lancaster County VA. On the 20th, a tour is{was} planned of the Mary Ball Washington Museum, where family members will view artifacts from the archaelogical survey of CPT Thomas Carter's ancestral home, 'Barford,' (dating back to the 1600's). A lecture will be given by Charles Warner, author of "The Early Carters of Lancaster County, VA." That afternoon, the tour will visit the historic Christ Church, where the Carter ancestors (to include the Robert "King" Carter family) worshipped. Next, members will tour 'Barford' Plantation, the ancestral Carter family home, as well as St. Mary's White Chapel, where the Dale Family worshipped, and finally the Dale ancestral plantation, "Midway." Day two will be the actual reunion in Grange Hall, Chesterfield County VA. The bus included transportation from Richmond to Lancaster and back to Richmond on the 20 [1998] That same general idea is being planned for June 26-27, 1999.
