Trying this again... In his will, presented for probate, 17 Nov 1828, State of Ohio, Champaign County, Caleb CARTER left his "large bible" to his son, Levi CARTER. The will states: I Caleb Carter of Champaign County, Goshen Township, being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory; blefsed be Almighty God for the same; do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say). First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Carter three cows, sixteen sheep, all my hogs four beds and bedding all my household and kitchen furniture-I leave my large bible to my son Levi Carter. And lastly my beloved wife Mary Carter is hereby appointed sole executrix of this my last will and Testament, Thereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 17th of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twentyeight. It is witnessed by: Joseph Mitchell Jur. Irene Mitchell Eliphaz Bigelow My question is, does anyone know what happened to Caleb CARTER's bible? Is anyone out there descended from Levi CARTER b) ca. 1777, possibly VA, d) 1840-50 Coles Co., IL. Levi was s/o Caleb CARTER b) ca 1750, don't know where, d) 1828, Champaign County, OH. There are a couple of Caleb CARTER's found in the places where our Caleb lived and we are searching for parents of Caleb. Could the Caleb CARTER bible, left to his son Levi CARTER, hold the key?
