Hi all; I've just subscribed in an attempt to find a hidden branch of my family tree. CARTER seems to be the closest surname I can find to CARDER on Rootsweb, so forgive me if I've chosen the wrong list! My earliest Carder is: Henry Carder, born about 1820 in England. Married Sarah Jane McCracken. Henry died November 05, 1915 in Albuna, Ontario. Children are: J. John, born October 06, 1869 Eliza, born August 05, 1873 Robert Samuel and William James, twin boys born April 06, 1877 Uriah, born November 03, 1879 (twin, other stillborn) Nelson Edwin, supposedly born about 1880 Another list of children (in Sarah Carder's obituary) gives two daughters and seven sons. The girls are not mentioned, but the sons are James, Robert, Wilbert, George, Joseph, Thomas, and Edwin. The children are a bit of a problem in another way... Nelson Edwin's birth wasn't recorded at the archives, although the four dates I give above were. He was supposedly a twin... so I guess either Sarah had a THIRD set of twins that didn't get recorded, or Uriah's name was changed to Nelson Edwin after the birth was registered. Any help would be much appreciated, especially in finding out where in England Henry might have originated! Kirsten Rutherford
