J.E. was John E. CARTER from Pike Co., AL. His wife was Dorenda WHITEHURST CARTER. J. E. CARTER was a Primitve Baptist Church minister at Hopewell Prim. Bapt. Church. He had also been a PBC minister in Pike Co., AL-town Troy. I have lots of info in this family for those interested. This CARTER family was in Crawford Co. GA before migrating to Pike Co. AL.
