I am a new Carter cousin searching for my lines. My great grandfather was Samuel H. Benjamin "BENTON" Cater born 12-14-1839 died 7-13-1918, around Fauquier County, VA, buried Front Royal, VA. His first marriage was to Jeannie Catherine Mahoney 12-2-1860. His second marriage was to LAURA WATKINS born 1886 died 8-1954. His father was HENRY CARTER death 1866 married ? Lydia Neustead 12-17-1821. Henry was in the War of 1812. HENRYs father was ISAAC CARTER about 1776 who had a brother FRANCES "Frank" Carter born 1772 in Prince William, CO. VA.
