Looking for any information on a THOMAS CARTER born in Buckingham Co. Va. on April 9, 1838 and died Feb. 5, 1911 in Lynchburg, Va. Married Mary Jane Bryant in Buckinghgam Co. Va. onApr.25,1866 by John Spencer. Mary Jane Bryant was the daughter of Powell and Martha Bryant, and Thomas was the son of Patsey Carter.Thomas served in the Buckingham Lee Guards in the Civil War and UDC Records show name as James Thomas Carter. Thomas most probably had a brother by the name of Daniel Carter who also lived in Buckingham Co. Their mothers name was most probably Martha but was called Patsey and in the 1840 census with no husband and 4 sons and 1 daughter. Any help would be most appreciated.
