Looking for any information on Lloyd Carter. Llloyd was born in South Carolina, c1810-1812. About 1830 he married Delilah Brooks. About 1847 he and his family moved from Grasy Pond, South Carolina to Jefferson County, Alabama and then to Winston County, Alabama. When they moved Delilah's younger brother, William Wellington Brooks, also went with them. He later married, 1859, Rutha Lucinda Long. When they left Grassy Pond, it was in the Broad River Basin Area of North and South Carolina. It is now in Cherokee County, South Carolina, about two miles from the North Carolina boarder and north west of Gaffney, S.C. About five miles away is Rutherford, Cleveland and Gaston County, North Carolina. Lincoln County, N.C. was also near.When they moved in 1847 Delilah's sister Elizabeth Brooks Wilson, married to Abisha Wilson, also went. The Wilson's stayed in Jefferson County.
