    3. I found in the Historical And Genealogical Collections of Dooly County, Georgia Volume I Complied And Edited By Nora Powell & Watts Powell the following: page 277 CARTER, David T. d. Dooly Co. abt. 1866, wife Frances M. Children: Sarah L., David G. and James W. All children over 14 in 1872. The children of David T. Carter were grandchildren of David Carter and his wife, Lucy of Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Widow of David T. Carter married second a Mitchell. CARTER, James W., died Dooly Co. as all real property was located in Schley County the adm. on the estate was moved there. Is anyone researching this Carter family? What was Frances M.'s maiden name? Does anyone know what Mitchell she married? I found marriage records on ancestry.com where a Francis M. Mitchell married a Frances M. Carter on 10 April 1861 in Dooly Co., GA. On the 1880 Tallapoosa County, AL Census I found the following: 1880 Tallapoosa County, Alabama Census Hackneyville Beat 3 9 - 10 Jun 1880 page 14 #116/118 Carter, Josephus W. self w m 58 farming AL GA MD Carter, Frances E. w f 48 wife keeping house AL AL AL Carter, John W. w m 14 son works on farm AL AL AL Carter, Nancy E. w f 6 daughter AL AL AL Michel, Frances M. w f 38 widow at home GA GA GA Michel, James W. w m 16 son works on farm GA GA GA Michel, Francis L. w f 12 daughter at home GA GA GA Michel, Utarcus C. w m 6 son GA GA GA Is this the same Frances M? What connection does Josephus "Joseph" Carter have to David Carter and Lucy? I found marriage records in a Tallapoosa Co., AL Marriage book where Josephus W. Carter married Frances E. Ross 1 Nov 1849, Daniel D. Tichenor, M. G. So many questions so very few answers. I would love to correspond with anyone of these families.
