In our local antique shop (Clyde, Ohio) there is a framed needlework, done by Laura Carter in honor of Col. Carter of Virginia. Evidently he was killed in the Civil War in 1864. There is a picture of him in one corner, dressed in his uniform. There is also a poem. Does anyone know of these Carters? Lynda
