I am seeking information on James Carter b. 1768 in VA, d. 1849 TX. Married Pheobe Bullard on 2 May 1791 in Greene Co. TN. James was the son of John Carter b. 1723 d. 1811 in Greene Co.Tn. I am interested in all information but especially on a land grant in Jefferson Co. TN. He was awarded a land grant, according to at least two researchers, for his service during the Rev. War. He was in the Fife and Drum Corp. I am seeking documentation on the land grant. He would have been very young to have been in the service Any help will be appreciated. Clarence C.
