Thanks to all that responded and it helped me a great deal. I think the name should have been Bayless instead of Bales but we all know how spelling went back then. Mary Bayless would have been a child born to Mariah Wilmoth before she married John A Carter and the age would be correct for that birth. Thanks again. Clarence C Carter
