BARRETT. b. 1 May 1797 in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, England. d. 8 October, 1875 in Horsham, Victoria, Australia m. Thomasina MATTHEWS in Tasmania, 23 March, 1829 Facts about Charles CARTER: Transported to Van Diemens Land for highway robbery in the early 1800's. Given a Kings Pardon some years later for his role in the recapture of an escaped convict. Travelled to Melbourne, Australia where he and his family became one Victoria's foremost pioneering families in the Grampion region. He had six children. His sons Samuel, George and John Charles, went on to establish the family further in this region. Many of the properties founded by Charles CARTER are still in the family today. William CARTER parents: unknown, though I believe he was a brother to the above Charles CARTER. b. unknown date, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, England d. Victoria, Australia m. Mary RHODES Facts about William: He and his family immigrated to Australia and settled on a property called "Condah" in Victoria.
